Profile

Elder twin brother of the Yatonokami family. He is an orphan in a poor city, raised by adults who oppressed him; thus he hardly trusts anyone. He is careless and tends to find things troublesome, but is devoted and will do anything for his twin brother, Nayuta. As of now, both of the twins are living off the money that they make from rapping for shady underground business.

Appearance

Kanata has fair skin with purple bluish eyes. His hair is white with purple tips and the inside of his hair is turquoise. He parts his hair to the right and wears a white and purple cap. Kanata wears a blue patterned shirt and a multiple colored jacket with cozmez wordings. He also wears a turquoise belt to hold his white pants in place and wears the same turquoise, purple and blue sneakers like Nayuta. As part of his look, Kanata wears different accessories like a chain necklace with cozmez logo, a white belt choker and a snake earring on his left ear identical to Nayuta.

In 1st anniversary, Kanata later wearing new clothes but still wearing previous accessories. He wears a black sleeveless tank top covered with light blue and purple jersey with snakes pattern and light blue pants with purple lining and wears white socks with teal and purple lining, light blue and sneakers. Kanata later removes his cap and his hair tied in half ponytail.

Personality

Kanata described as "Tsundere" rapper: he is quite rude towards strangers but has soft side toward Nayuta. Due to his harsh past, he cannot trust anyone except Nayuta, who he has sworn to protect. A running gag in the series is that Kanata will get angry or go berserk if someone mocks or bullies Nayuta, even if that someone was just trying to befriend cozmez (notably Allen).

As long as Nayuta can eat whatever he wishes for until he's full, laugh, and continue living on, then...by all means.

Relationship

Nayuta Yatonokami: As the older twin brother, Kanata has been protecting him since they're kids. Because of Nayuta's crippling illness, he has always been very devoted to doing anything for Nayuta. Kanata works all day and night to provide for their life, even willing to pick up unsavory work. He is very protective of Nayuta and can get angry if there is someone near Nayuta, or makes fun of him.
Allen Sugasano: Initially, they did not get along because Kanata had the impression BAE is not serious about rapping. During DESIRE event, Kanata stole his Phantometal to teach him a lesson. However, after getting caught by Hajun. Kanata was willing to admit he stole the Phantometal because the adults have been making fun of them, as well as mocking BAE due to their rich background. When Allen revealed their harsh past despite different backgrounds and Nayuta asked him to return it, Kanata reluctantly does so. Since then, he no longer mocks BAE, but still gets annoyed by Allen's hip-hop antics as well he's interested in cozmez' music
Iori Suiseki: His boss. Kanata has been doing favors for him following Suiseki family downfall, implied to be unlawful.

Phantometal

Kanata’s phantometal accessory is the left Ouroboros Pair Earring (ウロボロスペアピアス(左耳))^[4]. It is a metallic earring resembling a snake that is worn on Kanata’s left ear. The name Ouroboros comes from an ancient symbol of a snake devouring its own tail, which represents wholeness or infinity.^[5] He activates it by biting Nayuta's earring.

The name Kanata means "jewel" (珂) (ka), "wave, breaker" (波) (na) and "luxury, select" (汰) (ta).
Kanata's surname Yatonokami means "arrow" (矢) (ya), "door" (戸) (to), "from" (乃) (no) and "above, top, upper" (上) (kami).

Kanata's Twitter account does not follow any of the other characters except for Nayuta, Shiki, and Buraikan.
