The following are editing guidelines for the Paradox Live Wiki. These guidelines are set to establish consistency within the styling and formatting of the wiki. It is ideal to follow these guidelines when contributing, but they are not mandatory rules. You will not be penalized if you accidentally go against one of these guidelines.

These guidelines are a work in progress. More will be added on where it is seen fit!

As a general tip, it may be useful to have at least a basic understanding of wikitext, HTML, and CSS when editing source code (There are several free sources online to learn them). Alternatively, you can use the visual editor, which will be perfectly fine for most simple edits.

Editing Guidelines

If you notice a page violates one of these guidelines, please feel free to edit it so it follows.

General

  • Please cite your sources where it is appropriate (such as adding facts about characters, etc.) You may either do this by mentioning the source within the text or using a <ref> element (If you do this, make sure there is a reference list, <references />, at the bottom of the page)
  • It is recommended to avoid using deprecated HTML elements. Ex. <center>, <big>, etc.

Formatting

Song Lyrics

  • When adding song lyrics to the Wiki, please have all of the lyrics written out and refrain from using repeat symbols (such as for the chorus, etc.) This is for ease of reading.
  • Song lyrics should be centered. It is preferable to use the text-align CSS property for each tab instead of nesting the tabber within the deprecated <center> element or any other method for the sake of consistency.
  • If you need to add translator’s notes to English song translations, please make a reference list with the group name “T/N” at the end of the English lyrics within the closing </poem> tag and ensure translation notes are assigned that group name as well. This will prevent conflict if there is a need to cite something and create a general references list at the end of the page, outside of the lyrics.
    • ex:
<tabber>
|-|English=
[...]
This is a lyric<ref group=”T/N”>Translation note content</ref>
[...]

Translation Notes:
<references group=”T/N” />
</poem>
</tabber>

Appellation Tables

Styling:

  • Appellation tables should be centered on the page and have center aligned text. You can do this by adding styling in the source code. Ex. style=”margin: 0 auto; text-align: center;”
  • Character order in the table should adhere to the order established by the Characters page, from top-to-bottom, left-to-right. To save space, do not add character rows where both appellation columns are blank to the table. If new content is found that shows the appellations, you may add the character row then.

Text Formatting:

  • The basic formatting for a nickname is “[Translation] ([Japanese], [Romaji if necessary (italicized)]).” Ex. Idiot (馬鹿, Baka)
  • Another format is “[Romanization, italicized] ([Japanese]),” which may be used when the Japanese word does not have a clear-cut equivalent in English.
  • Do not add romaji to the Japanese if the romanization is nearly identical. Ex. Write “Anne-kun (アン君),” not “Anne-kun (アン君, An kun)”
  • Only add Japanese in parentheses if it has been canonically written out. Do not do this if the appellation has only been heard in audio.
  • Romanized personal pronouns should be italicized. Ex. Ore, boku, watashi, etc.
  • In the romanization, write honorifics after a hyphen. Ex. Nayuta-kun

File Naming Guidelines

File guidelines are set to establish consistency and make it easier to add files onto the wiki. If a file you uploaded was incorrectly named, please contact an administrator who can rename the file for you.

General Naming Guidelines

  • Use title case / capitalize the first letter for each word
  • Team names in files should be written as follows, including capitalization as shown:
    • BAE
    • TCW
    • Cozmez
    • AKYR
    • Buraikan
    • VISTY
    • AMPRULE
    • 1Nm8
    • GokuLuck (or GKLK)
  • Uncommon characters are to be replaced with the letter they’re meant to represent. For example, the image of the MV thumbnail for FRE△KOUT by BAE may be named “FREAKOUT MV”, replacing the triangle character (△) with A
  • Akan Yatsura song titles should be shortened so there is no subtitle. Ex. The image of the MV Thumbail for BAD BOYZ -Akan Yatsura Underground- should simply be named “BAD BOYZ MV Thumbnail.png”

File Name Formats

  • Album covers
    • CDs with a one-word theme (i.e. Stage Battle CDs (“DESIRE”, “JUSTICE”, etc.) or 1st album “TRAP”):
